Old Business:
National Report from Butch G –
BMWCC has standardized all club logos to make them comparable to the international one.
Window stickers for the BMWCC have been ordered as requested last month, the national club will send them when all orders are in and printed.
Website:
We have now got a new website for the BMW Club of Saskatchewan thanks to Jon Milani. It is all redesigned and will be maintained by the executive. If you have any issues talk to one of them.
Membership dues – will continue with $30 per year. Remind people that they get 10% off parts and service at Dilawri with their membership and free entry to the Euro show and Club day.
Newsletter – we have no volunteer presently to take over the newsletter. We did not publish 4 as required by the national club, Reg will look into how many we must put out.
Window Stickers – for our club. We will look into new stickers to advertise our new name. We will aim to have them ready by the Euro show to give to all members as they pay fees.
Charities: We will continue to support Hope’s Homes in 2010
Sponsorship – we need to touch base with our current sponsors and find some new ones. We have been supported by Dilawri, Queen City Autobody, Value Tire, SUDs, Dent Clinic, CAS,…
Review 2009 Events:
European Car show – went very well considering the weather, poured rain all day. We need more members involved. Find sponsors and raffle items earlier. A letter on club letterhead outlining the show to give sponsors would be helpful.
Majestics Car show – we were stuck off by ourselves this year, not really much exposure for an expense of XXX. May go in next year, but put in fewer cars.
Track Days – We joined the Corvette club in buying membership at the track. ($650) We need more variety in track layouts next year. There were good turnouts at the Thursday evenings. The club day was a big success, many attended for the afternoon. It was suggested again that we try to get some instruction. There may be an opportunity to have a “cart” day next year.
Club T-shirts – some still old ones in stock. New club logo to be used , Reg and Mark will design new shirts and Jessica will look in to costs. They will report at the next regular meeting in Nov.
Show and Shines – members attended a variety of events. It turned out that the Canadian Tire location was not good, not much exposure. We will try for even more participation next year around the province, it is a great way to promote our club and attract new members!
New Business:
Euro Show Planning – committee will consist of Scott, Drew, Allan, Reg, and others. We still need to run the “putting” contest since we are on the hook for the insurance cost. Scott will talk to Dilawri (the sponsor) and try to set something up soon. It must be done before the end of the year.
Club Day – want to have it on the Saturday before the Euro show. We will book the track as soon as we have confirmation of the date. Everyone would have to purchase a $5 track pass and pay $10 to cover interim membership and entry to Euro show.
Driving Training – insurance costs expected to be the same or may be included in track fees if they can make a deal. Evenings are good so we plan on doing the same next year. We will continue to charge $30 per session and split the associate membership fee with the corvette club ($650)
Club Lottery – Winner was Marshall Robinson for 2008. We will continue with the club lottery this coming year that would include $100 from the club and any other prizes collected over the year.
Meeting Place for 2010 – some public places were suggested for meetings, perhaps more people would feel comfortable attending if they were not at private homes. Suggestions were Movado’s, Rock Creek. Looking for suggestions.
BMW Club Annual Christmas Party – to be held on Saturday –Nov 28, Dec 5, Dec 12 (tba) at the Hodsman’s, 2475 Broderick Bay at 7:30 again.
Adjournment: 17:50 moved by Reg H. Seconded by Mark S. Carried.
Next regular meeting: will be at Hodsman’s 2475 Broderick Bay.
