A lack of financial resources forced the company to adopt a model policy which did not go down well with the market, putting BMW in a situation which almost led to the company being sold. The fact that things turned out differently in 1959 was partially due to the BMW 700 having been developed – a vehicle which gave great cause for help. [...]</p>
