AWESOME!!!!! You will have a BLAST, Mike. The whole city is one big party that week. Have you been before? Might want to think about grandstand seats right across the pits - we were sitting right at the finish line (Section 1), and while it was great to watch pit stops and the podium at the end, it SUCKED for the actual race. We could basically see the cars coming down the main straight (REALLY fast, and LOUD), flash by in a nanosecond, and the disappear towards turn one. We couldn't see ANY passing, at all.
When we walked the track afterwards, we figured it would be better to sit in the bleachers at either of the hairpins - sections 11, 12, or 15. You'd be able to see a lot more of the action, I think.
Just a thought. No matter where you are, it will be phenomenal.
Take your earplugs out for the start of the race, if you're in section one.
I think Spoon Face won the year we went. I saw that he's back, racing for Brawn Mercedes. Hope Jacques makes it back in, too, so the two of 'em can settle old scores, LOL...... (Jerez, anyone?!?!)
